Weekender is a mobile app that helps you find events happening near you. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
1. Who we are
Weekender is operated by Mithril Labs. If you have questions about this policy, email mithril_labs@proton.me.
2. What we collect
- Account information. You can browse and save events without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google — required only to create or RSVP to shared plans — we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
- Device identifier. We create an internal user ID linked to your account once you sign in.
- Location context. You choose a city or suburb when you set up the app. We store your selected city/suburb preference — we do not collect precise GPS location.
- Swipes and saves. We record which events you save, skip, or dismiss so we can show you a personalised feed and your saved list.
- Plans. If you create or RSVP to a shared plan, we store the plan details, your name, and your profile photo alongside the attendee list. Your name and photo are visible to others who open the same plan link.
- Analytics events. We log website and in-app interactions (e.g. landing page viewed, referral campaign, feed viewed, event opened) through Amplitude to understand how Weekender is used and to improve it.
- Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, we store your Expo push token so we can send you relevant event reminders. You can revoke this in your device settings at any time.
3. What we do not collect
- Precise GPS or real-time location
- Payment information (we do not sell tickets)
- Your phone number
- Any data from your Google account beyond your name, email, and profile photo
4. How we use it
- To show you a relevant event feed for your chosen city and date
- To save and display events you've expressed interest in
- To power shared plans and RSVP flows
- To send push notifications you've opted in to
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the app:
- Railway — cloud infrastructure that hosts our API and database
- Expo / Expo Push — push notification delivery
- Clerk — authentication infrastructure. When you sign in with Google, Clerk processes your OAuth flow and stores your account credentials. See clerk.com/privacy.
- Google — signing in is done through Google, whose OAuth service shares your name, email, and profile photo with us. See Google's privacy policy.
- Amplitude — product analytics. We send website and in-app interaction events to Amplitude to understand usage patterns. See amplitude.com/privacy.
- Upstash Redis — short-term caching
- PredictHQ, Ticketmaster, Eventfinda, Moshtix, and other event data providers — publicly available event data ingestion
- Pexels — stock imagery used for event thumbnails
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to any third party.
6. Data retention
Your account and associated swipes, saves, and plans are retained for as long as you use the app. If you would like your data deleted, contact us at mithril_labs@proton.me and we will remove it within 30 days.
7. Children
Weekender is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
